OUR IMPACT

Nearly 1,200 of the individuals we served in 2009 were children and 300 were seniors. 77% of clients visited the Food Bank fewer than 15 times during the year, indicating we played an important, though short-term role supporting people in a time of need. 5% of clients visited the Food Bank consistently throughout the year.

SHOPPING MODEL

Bienvenidos believes that choice is tied to dignity. For this reason, the Food Bank distributes based on a shopping model. After donated and purchased food has been crated and inventoried, it is arranged on display-tables. Clients then pass through the Food Bank with carts, recycled bags and boxes to shop for items they want.
